The cutting of the gem has to be finished before you can see whether it shines!

A cutter can destroy all of your hard work, researching, mining, and investing if there are cutting mistakes.

What is the best cut?

Light leakages

Light leakage in gem cutting is the loss of light escaping through the pavilion (bottom) or sides of a gemstone rather than reflecting to the observer’s eye, causing the stone to appear dull, lifeless, or "washed out". This occurs when facets are cut at incorrect angles (too shallow or too deep) relative to the gem’s critical angle, resulting in poor internal reflection. The upper part is called the "Crown," and the bottom part is called the "Pavilion". The crown should be 1/3 from the total height of the gemstone, and the pavilion should be 2/3 from the total height of the gem.

How do you know whether the gem cut is perfect?

Very simple. You can grab the 10X magnification loop and look over the gemstone carefully. You will see all facets, proportions, and any inclusions within the stone. Check if there are unmet facets, uneven facets, and the height of the crown (1/3) and pavilion (2/3) from the total height. That's it.
